The Shaikan1-B discovery well, located in Iraq’s Kurdistan province near the city of Dohuk, about 85 kilometers northwest of Erbil. The well, drilled by Gulf Keystone Petroleum in spring 2009, reached TD at 2,950 meters measured depth and encountered nine hydrocarbon-bearing formations within Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic deposits.
