Sandstone of sediment-gravity-flow origin in succession inferred to represent the clinoform toplap interval in seismic records. Fine-grained strata below the sandstone are marine slope deposits and fine-grained strata above the sandstone are outer shelf or lower shoreface deposits. Note mud-filled incision at top of sandstone 25 ft in front of geologist. Aptian-Albian Fortress Mountain Formation in Atigun Gorge. Location about 125 miles south of Prudhoe Bay.
