Two views of slickencrysts along an intermediate-angle, dip-slip shear fracture in a muddy shale. The missing block in both photos moved downward with a sense of normal shear as indicated by both bedding offset and the asymmetry of the steps developed in the calcite. Vertical 2-inch diameter core; uphole is towards the top in both photos.
