These are displays of a temperature survey from a horizontal well. As the name suggests an oblique view of the 3D image, and the map shows a map view of the same model. In my presentation, we show these two images on a single slide. Display of structural surface of base of reservoir, well paths of steam injectors, temperature survey from horizontal producer This shows a horizontal well drilled in the axis of a syncline to take advantage of the force of gravity on two synclinal flanks in the steamflood process Disks on injector well paths indicate top and base of completion Diameter and color of " cylinder" are proportional to wellbore temperature Dark blue = 80 deg Red = 270 deg. The temperature survey shows the peak wellbore temperature is nearest the I-6A/T injector. "The horizontal producer was carrying a high fluid level to mitigate the incipient steam breakthrough indicated by the high flowline temperature (220 deg F.). "After reducing stem injection in the offending injector, the flowline temperature decreased - but stayed high enough to assure us we ere assisting production with steam injection. With the incipient breakthrough diminished or perhaps eliminated, the well could be pumped off, allowing it to produce at a higher rate." VISUALIZING TEMPERATURE SURVEY Temperature survey visualized 20 minutes after receiving digital data Horizontal well had high flowline temperature (FLT), high fluid level Injector I-6AT identified as likely source of incipient steam breakthrough Reducing steam rate resulted in decreased FLT, well pumped off, oil production increased 100 BOPD
