These images are pictures of a reservoir model we built for planning a horizontal well. The enlargement is an enlargement of a portion of the image in the overall file. Display of cross-sections of reservoir model, structural surface of base of reservoir. Reservoir model populated with kriged resistivity - resistivity in this reservoir is good lithology indicator. Blue = 5 ohms, Red = 180 ohms Colored "towers" are the segments of resistivity curves between the top and bottom of the reservoir. Red line is horizontal well path built using interactive well planner. Horizontal well was placed in down-dip area of syncline to exploit force of gravity in steamflood recovery. Enlargement shows how visualization of the well path with the reservoir model insures that path will stay in sand (green) and avoid intervening shales (blue).
